Around 160,000 flowers make a single kilogram, every one picked by hand at dawn before it opens fully. Mongra grade means only the crimson stigma — no yellow style, which has no flavour and is the cheapest way for a seller to add weight.

How to keep it
Keep the vial sealed, away from light and heat. Good for three years; the aroma is strongest in the first year.
