Kashmiri lal mirch
The whole point of a Kashmiri chilli is that it colours a dish deep red without making it hot — which is why rogan josh looks the way it does. What is sold as Kashmiri chilli powder in most shops is ordinary chilli with colour added. Whole chillies cannot be faked the same way.
Buy it whole and grind it yourself. That is the only way to know what is in it.
